READING MY DIARY – OK

Some people were surprised that I plan to let my children read my diary. This will be after I’m DEAD! I have been rereading my diary and taking out entries I never want them to read. I think they will enjoy reading about my life.
This morning I played MAH JONGG. I didn’t do very well and about half way through I was hardly trying. I did win the very last hand.
After lunch we went over to friends and learned a new cardgame. I talked to some women friends for awhile and then we packed up to come home. I wanted to go out for supper but hubby didn’t want to so I called a friend. She had already eaten but came along to keep me company. After supper we went to watch the firewworks which had been postponed because it rained on Canada Day. There was a great turnout – lots of children.
Hubby spoke to his brother. He has cellulitis but they let him go home with medication and home visits. We might got to Toronto earlier but hubby hasn’t decided yet.
Now I have to finish unpacking even though it’s late.

I would want my kids to read my diary too, though it might be too painful for them with some of the entries. I will have to leave them a note in my will so they know how to access it.

My kids both have their own diaries here, so they both have access to mine. I have always told ’em just about everything I do or think, anyway, so it really doesn’t matter! That was so nice of your friend to go out to supper with you even though she’d already eaten, to keep you company! That is a very good friend. ryn: Joey is leaving to go to army boot camp on July 28. This month is going to go by very fast! hugs, Weesprite

I don’t have any kids… but I don’t care WHO reads my diary. My mother reads it occasionally, but she doesn’t have a diary of her own so if there’s something that I really don’t want her to see I can make it ‘friends only’… (huggles)

I would let them read it all. I mean you’re going to be gone anyway right? Plus I think it will give them more insight into you as a complete person. They’ll know more about who you are and what you liked and you won’t just be mom.

I have always held the view that if I am free to write it then other are free to read it, or not….my family included. The only time I make entries ‘faves only’ is when there are photos involved that could be stolen, or people mentioned that could be really hurt in some way. In fact … my own kids are too busy to read my diary and we talk on phone constantly so theres no need. I hope your family are as understanding of your feelings and that you can feel safer sharing stuff. I am sure they are. Its about trusting those we love. hugs P
