A GREAT SHOPPING DAY-ok

Yesterday I had a wonderful day. Not only did I buy a sewing machine but I spent the day with my daughter. I realize just how precious this time is as I am only here for four months and then I’ll be back home and she’ll be staying.

She came over about ten thirty. By that time I had two loads of washing done. I left the clothes to be folded at some future date. Of course by the time I came home some of it was creased. Anyone ever try the steam iron?

We started off by going to the quilting store. It didn’t take long for the owner to convince me which machine to buy. I bought a Janome. Then I looked for a pattern so that I can make my grandaughter a quilt. The owner will help me learn to use the machine. So as soon as possible I will start cutting the fabric. Hope the machine is easy to use but if I have trouble I will just make an appointment to get help. My daughter bought a jelly roll and will start her own quilt.

Next we went to TOO JAYS for lunch. I had tongue and fries which I love but don’t eat that often.

After lunch I took her "home." She is babysitting her friend’s dog and was worried about leaving it alone too long. I went to TARGET while she spent some time with the doggie. I bought my sister-in-law a digital photo album, bought some DVD’s for my grandchildren, a pot etc.

Then I picked her up. It was about five by then. We stopped at T-MOBILE! I am looking for a phone that will download my mail and have a camera. I cannot use my Blackberry for email as it costs too much here in the US. I’m frustrated that I can’t get my email here in the US and I am here almost 200 days a year!!!!!! (120 days in the winter and eight days every month from May to October) So I will continue to hunt for a phone.

Then we stopped at a store called POTTERY BARN??? My daughter was looking for a carpet for her balcony. I found a few things but in the end I left everything because there were long lineups at the cash and she didn’t find what she wanted.

We went to my SIL for supper. Sad to say she already had a digital photo frame so I have to take mine back and think of something else she would like.

So tomorrow I have some messages to do but not sure if I’ll do them tomorrow. I want to start swimming and use my machine so maybe I’ll do that tomorrow.

TARGET – RETURN FRAME

I also want to mail the DVDS I bought for my grandchildren.

I think there is one more thing but I can’t remember.

Oh yes I still have to look for a phone.

This is the first time I have been up in the middle of the night since I’m here. I’m also not hot now so YIPPEE DOO! I guess hopefully whatever it was has passed. We have no plans for tomorrow night. Maybe we’ll go to a movie or maybe we’ll just relax at home.

Sunday night we are playing bridge here and then Monday our friends are coming from home so we will surely go out for supper. So it’s starting to be busy. Great because then there is no time to miss home.

I must try to go back to sleep after reading some entries.
