TWO GREAT DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-OK

Early yesterday morning I received a phone call. It was from my grandson. I thought I was suppose to pick him up from school about 4 but he called to ask me to pick him up at one. I rushed out of bed and got ready. He lives about a half hour away and there were messages I wanted to do in his area.

Anyhow I went to the health food store near his school. Sad to say we don’t have one near me and his is excellent.

Then I went to pick him up and the fun began. We went to McDonald’s because I hadn’t had time for lunch. He played in the park while I ate and read my book. Of course he ordered food too but ate little.

After that we were off to TOYS R US. I don’t like to take him there every week but figure once in awhile is ok. Of course he chose some toys and then we went to an art store. We each chose a few things to paint. It was so much fun!!!! I think it’s ceramic pieces – not sure. We had to leave them to be glazed so we will go and pick them up next week.

Then it was time to go home and meet my son for supper. We went to Pizza Hut. Had a quick pizza and then went to watch my grandson play soccer. He is so cute. Most of the time he is just running after his friends who are chasing the ball. However much to our delight he actually kicked the ball a few times!

After that we went home. My son went to play baseball and I babysat. It was easy to get my grandson to sleep and then I had a nap.

Tonight my children came for supper. It is wonderful to get together.  His girlfriend couldn’t come so it gave us some special quality time together.

Hubby and I have decided to make Friday night supper every other week or at least whenever my son has his son. After supper we will go to the trailer. The weeks we don’t make supper I told my hubby I would go to the trailer Thursday evenings if he wants to. How’s that for compromising? I was surprised that he agreed. It seems that he realizes he can relax at home now that he doesn’t have the pressure of work.

So that was my last two great days. Think I will read some of your entries before I hit the sack.

That sounds like a great couple of days. Your grandson is so fortunate to have you in his life – he’ll remember these years for his whole life, I’m sure!

It is always good to have designated family time. We make a point of Sunday dinner every week. I wish we could do more but it is the only day we all seem to be able to come together.
