HOME SWEET HOME

I was home most of the day. When we woke up it was pouring and storming. My cleaning lady called to say she wasn’t coming. I wish I would have known because I would have stayed in bed longer.
I only went out to pick up a parcel which turned out to be a book. At the same time I bought some craft stuff for my friend’s nephew and niece. Oh I also HAD to go into the bookstore next door and buy a few books.
Then it was home. I finished cutting the pieces for my rag quilt. I can’t wait to start sewing it together.
I am almost finished my first quilt. I am just hand sewing the binding on.
Tonight we went to friend’s for supper. She had her whole family there to see her sister who came from Halifax. Her sister is bringing up their two grandchildren because her daughter is GOOD FOR NOTHING! It can’t be easy to be bringing up two children at their age – probably their late fifties. The children are seven and eight. So cute but active!
She also invited us and two other couples that live in her building. I think I would love to live in an apartment building with friends. It’s so easy to get together especially in winter.
My daughter comes home tomorrow night. I will have to share my car with her. Hopefully it will work out ok because I go out during the day and she mostly goes out at night. I will probably leave the car home on the weekends so I will have to drive to the country Thursday nights with hubby.
They still haven’t found the little girl that went missing from her "home" last Tuesday night. I am sure they will find her DEAD. SO SAD!
Next weekend we are going to make jam at the trailer. My friend’s cousin told us what to buy and what to do. Since we are always looking for something to do on weekends we will make jam. Next Thursday I will take my grandson to the market to buy all types of berries. It should be fun! I don’t think he’s ever been there.
So that was my day!

your rag quilts sound so much fun….I hope you are able to take a photo and share it here. hugs P

Home-made jam is so yummy! My Mom used to make it every summer. Store-bought jam is just not the same. There’s no love in it! =)

I didn’t hear about any little girl missing from Canada. But it sounds very sad. I hope they find her alive.

What kind of jam will you make? Yummm!

I also hope you manage a photo of your quilt. I haven’t done one is years and I soooo miss the time to do so. We are in the middle of missing persons week in my state and I find it heart wrenching … radio stations are playing parents pleading for their children, or police details. I cry most every time. ***HUGS***

I love hommade jam but I hate preserving and canning. Yes I do.
