HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HUMID YUKKY!-READ

I’m not really complaining but just want you to know that it is HOT here. I guess it is much better than the rainy day we had yesterday but we were busy SHOPPING so who cared? I didn’t really spend that much. I bought fabric and pattern book at the quilt store which was wonderful. I bought some clothes for my grandson at a store called ONCE UPON A CHILD. I bought some sugar free chocolate at a special candy store and some paper at a scrapbooking store. The scrapbooking store was going out of business so the paper was DIRT CHEAP! It was sad though because the owner is also getting divorced and was young probably with children. She said that stores like Walmart and the dollar stores just put her out of business.
All in all it was a great day. Everyone was patient and I think we managed to hit stores that everyone wanted.
At the end we planned to stop at Barnes and Noble to look at books and have coffee before heading home. BIG MISTAKE!!!! THE NEW Harry Potter book was coming out at midnight. There was hundreds of people in the store so there was no room to walk around and certainly no room in the coffee shop. It was a happening to be sure. We just stayed a few minutes and left. I figured we made room for some children that wanted to participate in the activities for Harry. There were security guards everywhere counting people going out and coming in.
We arrived home around 1:30 a.m. My hubby called to see where I was and to tell me that I should check if the ferry was running. Luckily I didn’t bother and discovered that the ferry runs 24 hours. It’s not the first time I came back from Burlington so late.
Tonight the men are playing TEXAS HOLD EM. I don’t know what the women are doing but I ran around enough and had enough social interaction so I am planning to stay home.
Maybe I’ll even get a chance to read some of your entries.
Oh I met such a wonderful woman of 72 at Walmart. What a great sense of humour and so vibrant! I wish I could be more like her!!!! I bought some cheap flannel to make a rag quilt. Maybe if nothing else happens tonight I will start on it.
Time to relax and then make supper.

ohhhh!!! HP comes out today!! Thank you for reminding me!!

Harry Potter — Bah humbug! I dislike that type of book and simply don’t get the hoopla! There are so many REAL and interesting things in the world — if it is fiction, why not base it on reality? I’ve never liked this stuff — ‘scuse me, but everybody is talking about it and I wish they’d stop! Sounds like you had a good day…..:-)

I was out last night for harry potter. 😀

I think you’re perfect just the way you are! =) When WalMart came to our town, it put so many small businesses out of business. It was sad. Dang it, though, their prices are so good. I wrestle with my conscience whenever I buy anything there when I remember Gus and Patty, two small business owners that didn’t survive when WalMart came to town. Hmmmm….

Not really into Harry Potter but many people certainly are. I wouldn’t have gone near a bookstore last night!
