DON’T THINK TOO MUCH-read

I don’t recommend thinking. Actually thinking too much is hazardous to your health…..your mental health to be exact!!!!! My health for sure.
I just spoke to my sister. She sound so depressed and nervous! She think too much. She thinks about my brother and mother who passed away lately. She worries about her son who just got married. She plain worries about anything and everything. I told her to keep busy and stop thinking.
I TRY NOT TO THINK TOO MUCH.
My friend is going for a triple by pass tomorrow. My other friend has liver cancer and needs surgery which will just extend his life for who knows how long. Last but not least my grandson will have surgery for his ears next week.
So it is dangerous for me to start thinking about all these people. We are also going to the doctor on Friday. We will get results from our blood tests and hubby will find out if he is ok after the radiation in the FALL. As long as I don’t dwell on any of this I will be ok.
Tonight we are going out for supper with our friends. The hubby is the one going in for heart surgery tomorrow. We are suppose to distract him.
Back later alligator.

oh I agree!!! don’t think about things that you have absolutely no control over!!!

Whew! – You know a lot of people in CRISIS mode! – You are so right — worrying doesn’t help a thing. However, I don’t think it does much good to tell people not to worry. They are either worriers, or they aren’t!

Seriously, if I even begin to think about all that is going on right now, I will go bonkers.

I agree!

It’s so hard not to think about things that could be so stressful. You seem to be good at it… wish I could do that more. ryn: Thanks so much! I’m really excited and will def let you know when it arrives. 🙂

it isn’t thinking that is the problem, it is focussing constantly on the negative that is. We need to think to use our mind to reflect on things, positively and with openness. It really comes down to attitude, not the world we see but the way we see the world. hugs P

Worrying doesn’t help anything and it doesn’t prevent the worst from happening. I think some people just have a really bad habit. I enjoy doing all the things to distract myself. When I have something really stressful going on, I just increase my shopping, napping, reading, OD reading, chatting online, talking on the phone and watching TV.

My father was a worrier and it eventually gave him cancer I am convinced. I made up my mind long ago that there is no use in worrying over things you have no control over, it simply doesn’t change a thing.

I don’t see any point in sitting ’round thinking about people who have passed away. Your sister (and anyone else who does this) needs to MOVE ON. Life is for the Living. I’m much more callous than most people, but I never sit and worry about friends or even relatives just because they’re sick or having surgery or going through some kind of hard time or whatever. The only people I give a second thought to are Joe, Carrie, and Joey. To me stuff like serious illness, etc., is just part of life…. not something we need to wring our hands about. Save that kind of worry for the very few people who are really important in one’s life! hugs, Weesprite
