WHY OH WHY
I just read an entry of one of my favourites. I wonder why women think so little of themselves. Why do so many of us think we are worthless without a man? Is this because of religion, past history or just the way we were treated growing up? I am sure the media has alot to do with the way we think of ourselves. It is so sad. People come in all colours, shapes and sizes. We are ALL unique. Why don’t we feel special? Why don’t we feel good enough? SAD!!!!!!!!
Over the years and there have been many I have become more confident. I know I am good enough for anyone and anything. My opinions matter as much as anyone else’s. After all they are only opinions. There is no one way to do anything! As the saying goes there are many ways to skin a cat.
I would hope that women of today have more confidence. Probably most younger women do have confidence BUT then we have the whole
weight issue. All women see in the media is anorexic women so they diet, diet, diet. They see women whose pictures are probably changed by photographers. It is so easy nowadays with modern technology.
Women! Be strong! I believe women are much stronger and smarter than men. They need us far more then we need them. If they were strong they wouldn’t need to put us down which they do so they can feel important.
WOMEN! Take heart! You are unique. You are important. You are as good as anyone else. EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES OH YES THEY DO……………..
ryn: I do Polarity Therapy, Injury Treatment Massage Therapy, and I’m a Certified Flower Remedy Practitioner! The work I did with these men was Injury Treatment. I often use the Trigger Point manuals by Travell and Simon (50 years research on treatment/care for every muscle in your body!) That’s where I discovered the characteristics of the lynch pin bothering one man!!!! Hugs!

It’s not so much that I feel worthless without a man – it’s more that I feel worthless, so I don’t think I deserve happiness. I don’t want to turn to a man to find my self-worth (tried that, it failed). I heard the message over and over again, all my life, that “nobody will ever like you if…” (fill in the blank: if I’m fat, which I am; if I’m angry, which everybody is at one time or another; etc.) Being smart and funny was never enough. I want everybody to like me all the time, which is an impossible achievement, so I defeat myself over and over.

Women in the past were know as the weaker sex due to the emotionality of the female menstal cycle. Of course now all scientists will tell you that women are actually biologically superior to men in every way. If the human race had to count on men bearing children, it would have died out a long time ago! 🙂

I applaud this entry Ginger! Well said!!! Yes it is a sad reflection on western society that we have sunk to the depths of putting so much emphasis of physical appearances and particularly weight issues! Mind you I think its worse in USA than most other places! Much of the low self esteem also comes from abusive marriages and even parents, so very sad! I hope your friend reads this entry and takes heary from it! hugs P
