IT’S OVER-ok
Another Yom Kippur is over. Fasting wasn’t difficult at all. I went to the synagogue about 12:30 and stayed until services were over at 7:19. I sat with my sister. The synagogue was not as crowded as it use to be. It is very sad! The synagogue needs money! Many youngsters have moved to Toronto. Others have moved to the suburbs and many others are probably just plain not interested. I think the average age was sixty if not older. The Rabbi is 75. He is going to retire in a few weeks. He always sings the closing services. He did tonight too but to me his voice was weak. It was sad and just not the same. I don’t like this growing older. I don’t like watching everyone getting older and frailer. I know! I know! What choice do we have? It is just painful to me. The Rabbi just couldn’t seem to get up enough energy the way he use to. Of course he was fasting…….. He use to sing so wonderful. My mother always loved the closing with the Rabbi singing.
I am all packed. I put in some long pants and long sleeved t shirts. I still have to arrange my purse and medication. Then I am all set to go.
We had supper at my son’s. He did me proud. He had the table all set and served lovely – salad, bagels, cream cheese and lox, fruit salad with whipped cream and pizza. It was a change from rushing home and preparing food at the last minute.
So it’s time for last minute packing. Talk to you in the morning and then from good OLD NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!
Take very good care and enjoy your trip to New York. I am sorry about the younger people not attending worship services. It IS a shame. I hope the Rabbi is ok. Big Hugzzz..

Son’s supper sounds yummmmm! Yes, growing older — seeing all the old people around – knowing we are getting older – it is sad. When we were young, we felt we’d always be young. 🙁

I’m just taking a quick second to check in and see if you wrote anything about your hubby. I hope everything is okay. I’ll check back again later.
