THE MOUSETRAP-read
BORROWED FROM POLZ
A mouse looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. “What food might this contain?” He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard the mouse proclaimed the warning “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!”
The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said “ Mr Mouse, I can tell this is of grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.”
The mouse turned to the pig and told him “ There is a mousetrap in the house!”
The pig sympathised, but said “ I am so sorry Mr Mouse, but I am afraid there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers.”
The mouse turned to the cow. She said “ Wow Mr Mouse, I am so sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose.”
So the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap alone.
That night, a sound was heard throughout the house – like the sound of a mousetrap catching it’s prey.
The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness she did not see it was a venomous snake, whose tail had been caught in the trap.
The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital, but she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows how you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the main ingredient.
But the wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbours came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer’s wife did not get well, she died.
So many people came for her funeral, that the farmer had to slaughter the cow to provide enough meat for them all.So the next time you hear someone is facing a problem, and think it doesn’t concern you, – remember when one of us is threatened we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for each other and make an extra effort to encourage one another.
Great entry, and so true. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone followed this advice?

You’re the last Favorite I’m reading before going to work. I’m feeling awful today (depression); but maybe, maybe, I can go on now. Maybe I can kick some mousetrap butt. Thanks.

Good one! How many people don’t help when they have the resources…then beg for help when THEY are suffering?

This sounds to me like the worlds reaction to hearing that the Nazi’s were committing genocide with the Jews of Europe. It went on until it threatend all of Europe, not just Germany. Such a shame for the whole world. Lately because I have been unpacking I have found newspaper account after account of the opening days of Desert Freedom. I cry that we allowed genocide of the Kurds, and Shites.

As a Christian, I am embarrassed that we considered both genocides as “Not my job” for so long. I wish that we could make the world see genocide as a major plague. It is amazing to me that the world reacted so fast to find the remnants of the 1957 influenza pandemnic, but shrugs at war, famine and genocide. It is scary.

RYN: LQTS stands for Long QT Syndrome. It can be either congenital, as is my case, or caused by the over use of medications, particularly over the counter and perscrided antihistimines, diet aides, and certain pychogenic and antiarrythmic medications. Because I have been diagnosed with the congenital form of the disorder, everyone related to me has a 50/50 chance of having the same disorder.
Warning Comment
Those without the syndrome are more susceptible to the acquired version and should avoid a four page long list of medications, which includes most over the counter medications for colds and flus. This instantly makes me the poriah of the family. Long QT refers to points on an EKG that are measured by OP which is the points where the heart beats and QRST which is the points in which the

rest for a fraction of a second and repolarizes for the next beat. When the QT interval is elongated for whatever reason, it makes the person susceptable to an arrythmia known as torsades de pointes, which can lead to ventricular fribullation, and sudden death. When you hear of the healthy kid dropping dead on the playing field, it is most likely LQTS or a related arrythmia such as Bruschidas,

Or the opposite of LQTS which is WPW. The funny thing about my family and the reason we get so much attention is that a year before I was diagnosed with LQTS, my son was diagnosed with WPW, and an ablation was performed to correct the problem. This is more than you probably ever wanted to know about the electrophysiology of the heart. I know that it is more than I ever wanted to know.

The weirdest thing is that during the latest problems that I have had, I found out that I also have a very rare plumbing abnormality where all the veins in my heart go into the bottom of my heart and makes it look like I have a blood flow problem to the top of my heart. It only occurs in 1% of the population. It is only a pecularlity, but it lets me know that my heart is deformed indeed.

It seems like after divorce and bankruptcy, this would be enough that I wouldn’t have to face a son at war and then cancer, only to have this problem surface again. Everyone assures me of the goodness of God, but I am beginning to approach Him from the standpoint that “My name is not Job!” Thanks for your patience with me. Thanks for allowing me to vent.
