A FUN WEEKEND – edited

This weekend I was in Toronto. I just came home around nine o’clock.
My daughter and I left Friday about 2:00. We shared the driving and got to Toronto about eight.
My son drove with his wife and baby. They arrived a little after us. We had joining rooms which was fun.
Friday night my daughter an I went out for supper.
Saturday morning my grandson woke me up early. Seven? Everyone else went back to sleep. I took him for breakfast in the lobby and then went back to the room. It was dark and everyone was sleeping. I didn’t know what to do with him so I decided to take him out in the car. I grabbed my purse and off we went. I wasn’t showered or anything and he was in his pajamas. He was wearing slippers so I had to carry him everywhere. I noticed that the bottom of his slippers were worn out. I think it’s time for BUBBY to buy him new slippers.
I drove us over to a MacDonald’s. We went for a second breakfast and he played a little. Then we went to Office Depot so I could return the Palm I bought a few weeks before. I’m glad it was so easy to return. Then we went back to the room. Everyone was up.
My son took my grandson for the afternoon and we girls went shopping. What else? I spent too much as usual. I bought a new tape recorder. Often I have things I want to tape and I’m driving. I also bought a new pair of earphones. I bought some books and a toy for my grandson of course.
At night we went out for supper with my sister and nieces and nephews and their 9 children.
One of my nephews is NOT very nice. We were about twenty in all. I sat at one end of the table with my kids. We ordered separately. Anyhow the kids had egg rolls and soup to start. Then a waiter brought us one of our dishes. My daughter IN-LAW had ordered it for my grandson. WELL MY NEPHEW CAME OVER TO US AND DEMANDED THE DISH FOR HIS STARVING CHILDREN. I WAS SO UPSET. I TOLD HIM WE HAD ORDERED IT BUT HE DIDN’T CARE. HE GRABBED THE DISH AND OFF HE WENT. IT’S NOT THE FIRST TIME HE IS RUDE AND CRUDE. I AM GOING TO TRY NOT TO SEE HIM TOO OFTEN.
After that I went for coffee with my sister and sister-in-law. We had a nice chat.
Today was the bridal shower for my niece. It went very well. Saw lots of relatives on my hubby’s side. We left Toronto about three and got home safe but tired from the long drive. Luckily my daughter did alot of the driving since I was too tired.
Home sweet home.

theres nothing quite like a happy family weekend. hugs

Sounds like a busy and enjoyable time! Too bad about the nephew incident… hopefully the fun with the others overshadowed it.

Boy, that nephew sounds obnoxious! Glad you had a good time anyway — those adjoining rooms can be so much fun! Nice to be all together under one roof with your closest family! — Kind of funny that spouses weren’t there!

I guess tripping him would have been bad manners too! Your grandson is one lucky boy!! You sound like a fabulous Grandma and MIL.

AND a fab mom too!! I could use a trip to a good Chines restaurant…I love egg rolls. And they are so good for you, and deep fried and salty! MMM!

I so much enjoyed hearing about you-and-your-grandson’s morning adventure, while everyone else slept. That little boy is so blessed to have you as his Grandma! 🙂 Everyone should have a grandma like you. 🙂 Now, that nephew should be slapped or something. NO ONE should have a person like him!! Glad you made it home safe and sound after a wonderful weekend. hugs, Weesprite
