Amen! Sorry, couldn’t help it 🙂 As another non-religious person, I’ve often wondered the same thing.

Hi.. Belief in God is just faith, really. When I sit down in my chair.. I’m just going to have faith and believe that the chair is going to hold me up! And that’s how it works with God, too. Its cool if you’re religous just don’t shove it down my throat or in my face. I hate people who think that listening to secular music, being gay, and swearing are sins. Get their heads out of the bible and into the real world.

Meh…. who knows. People look upon things in so many different ways. Those who have true faith in god don’t go off spending money on books and such, they just believe and keep their faith true in their hearts and feelings. I certainly agree that to fly a plane into buildings and kill thousands of people just to get some virgins supposedly in heaven is not my idea of being spiritual. I know that I’ve said this before but – in my opinion – God and Religion are two very separate things. I believe in God so strongly but I am in no way religious.

WHO is going to have 75 virgins? (Will there be 75 left at the end of the world?)

God’s gotten a bad Name because of some of the things His people do. It bites. The real God is nothing like that, I don’t think.

First of all, the ‘people’ who committed 9/11 don’t beleive in God, they believe in Allah. The God of the Bible is all about love and us being our best . Allah is about men doing what they want in the Name of their god. Legalism can corrupt any good thing. Striving to be good isn’t the same as keeping a list of rules. Sacrifice is for oneself, don’t impose it on others.

Hello – No, I have’t heard from Brushstrokes and I am deeply saddened. It doesn’t look good at all. If he was able I know that he would have been on here long ago…. I have heard of people who have been laid up with pneumonia for horrendous lengths of time – months and months where they come close to dying but eventually, if they are young and strong enough, manage to pull through. I pray (cont)

..that Brushstrokes will prove to be one of the strong folk – How I would love to see his name bolded on my favourites list!…I haven’t given up hope yet……….Be well and take care.

lol @ chipparoo’s first note. a very good point! the God thing. i’m not particulary into “religion” i’m into God. can i separate the two? yes and no (brilliant, aren’t i? lol). i believe once touched by the living God one is never the same. God will meet someone wherever they’re at, doesn’t have to be in a synagogue or any building. (c)

what people do in the name of God or religion doesn’t necessarily mean it is of God. could be those people may be some of those God says to, “depart from me, i never knew you…”

I guess it comes down to exactly what one’s faith is, and whether is is a lifestyle lived through heart, or a dogma preached about but never expressed in life. My beliefs have given me a very strong sense of who I am and why I am here…a purpose for living and a deeper understanding of life. Its sad you cannot find that….don’t give up your search Ginger. lots of love

RYN: Not yet, we don’t have the dough. We’re going to look online, and next weekend we’re going to visit this little bicycle place where my boss takes her sons’ bikes to be fixed.

I believe in God but not organized religion. I haven’t been in a church in years except for weddings and funerals.

I can’t undertsand how anyone can believe they will have 75 virgins when they reach heaven!!!!!! By that standard I don’t think I know anyone personally who’s “reached heaven”, but I imagine a few pornstars might be able to make that boast. (-: Does this make male pornstars saintly I wonder?

For so many years I tried to become religious. You thought you might find God through religion? Maybe that was your mistake! (-: Try the lilies of the field, the transformation of caterpillars to butterflies, watching a small child, singing, thinking happy thoughts, a hug, watching birds in flight, watching the sunrise, making love, walking in nature . . . there goes God . . .
