I never get excited-read

I don’t know why but I rarely get excited. I rarely smile unless someone smiles at me. I am friendly but rarely make the first move. MAYBE I AM AFRAID OF REJECTION. WHY WOULD SOMEONE WANT TO BE FRIENDS WITH ME? My married son just called to ask me out for lunch. WHY?? When I asked he said nothing special. BUT why does he want to go for lunch. I am so uncomfortable with the thought. I have so much trouble making small talk. I am so inhibited. I am so insecure. Maybe I will ask him if his wife and son can join us. I know it would be good for us to spend some time alone but as I said I just don’t feel comfortable. What the hell is wrong with me? After all he is my son. I gave birth to him. I know he is a man now with a life of his own. He is such a good father and caring man. I guess I will just have to go and grin and bear it. Maybe he does have something he wants to talk about. I sure hope so because he isn’t the talkative type either. WOE IS ME!!!! Why am I such a mess?

You can do this! I know you can! Go!!!!! If you’re uncomfortable being the one doing the talking, ask him questions….then you can sit back while he answers….besides, Sunday is Mother’s Day…..maybe he just wants to spend some time with his Mom….
