WHY???????????? -OK

I wonder why in this day and age young girls are STILL eating, dreaming and sleeping about men. Why do young girls still wait for the phone to ring?

I would think that at this time young women would be taught the importance of having a profession or at least a way to support themselves. Why aren’t young girls enjoying their lives? Why aren’t they involved with sports, the art, and other activities? Probably many are but from the entries in these diaries it still seems that too many girls live only for the next boyfriend.

I AM NOT SAYING that having a boyfriend is not nice BUT a woman needs to be independent, needs to love herself and make a life for herself.

Then if she does have a boyfriend she is not so dependent on him.

I think it is the same with older women. Many of us have more in common with each other than with a man. A man is good for sex and sometimes to provide for us BUT we should be able to do these things for ourselves.

So what am I saying???????? In my day a girl waited by the phone until a boy would call her up for a date. To be home on a Saturday night alone was devastationg. Let’s get over it.

Young girls, make your own lives and your own fun. The right man will come along and of course having a hubby and a family is wonderful.

BUT you must be your own person first before you can dedicate your life to a hubby and family.
