Five for the price of one

Write about your first concert, who you saw, who you saw it with, what you
remember most about the concert and whatever else you want to include.

The first concert I ever went to was in May 1983 at the old JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, best known as where the American portion of Live Aid was held. It was an all day event with 5 bands, The Tubes, Bryan Adams, Sammy Hagar, John Mellencamp (performing at the time as John Cougar), and headlined by Journey.

It was the day after I had gotten my drivers licence but my parents wouldn’t let me drive into the city and especially all the way to South Philly. So my bother and I hopped on a train and then the subway to get down there. Most of the time we spent on the field fairly close to the stage which was great for seeing and getting my ears blown out. The one other thing I remember is being fairly stupid and taking big swigs of the jugs of spiked kool-aid that was being passed around. I say stupid only because now I realize that I had no clue who made it and it very well could have been spiked with something other than booze.

Well have a great day and God willing and everything be equal I’ll be back tomorrow.

Hell, back then we always hoped that it would be spiked with something better! LOL!

Wow memories of JFK! I was at Live Aid! I was just a kid and my Uncle and some of his friends took me..Probably one of the best times I’ve ever had!

That would have been absolutely awesome to see Live Aid!! Alas I was only 3 years old, probably a little too young to join in the spiked Kool Aid 😉
