A little bit of heaven
Not only did i get to see my Chant and Bailey tonight…but my Chant showed off for me. (*BIG OLE SMILE!!*)
Of course, Kim (their mother and my x-step-daughter) called while i was there and she’s NEVER speaking to anyone from here again– because Ant and i are all “chummy chummy”…and her own father brought me over around her children..
I seriously feel sorry for Ant. He can’t help the way he still feels about her. But…he’s trying.
With a sickly smile on his face, he said, “I know– i’m not supposed to care any more.” All i could do is grab his hand and squeeze– and he squeezed back.
Bailey is the most beautiful little girl i’ve ever seen!! She not only looks like my Chant did at three years old, but she has that great, fun personality of “nothing hurts as long as i’m having fun– and having fun and giggling infectiously is the BESTEST thing in the whole wide world!!”. I got to play on the trampoline with her. Did you know that a three year old girl gets airborne with an “adult” jumping beside her?
Yep! It’s true!!
Chant, who turns seven next month, got his bike out and had to ride it down the steep hill in the back yard, in an attempt to compete with Bailey’s cuteness. But…even in competition, he’s laid back and easy going and still, like his little sister, just wants to have fun. And you can see the love he has for Bailey– even through all the energy he puts into annoying her.
Chandler’s my boy. *beaming* I know…he’s not my “blood” grandson (which i do get reminded of from time to time)…but i can’t imagine loving a kid more fully, And after only seeing Bailey twice, i can just imagine how close we could be, if given a chance…
But…i’m ever grateful for the little bit of heaven i’ve been blessed to experience.

I am glad that you got to see them. Blood or not they are still special.

Bah. Related by blood is overrated. You’re related by love and that’s ever so much better.
