I’m still standing

Hello everybody!  Whew, what a ride I’ve been on…

I’ve been working at the same place I was working at the last time I wrote.  I haven’t been hired on permanent yet, but I am still happy there and still hoping.  I have been leaving home at or around 7 AM, getting to work at 9, working until 6, then getting home again around 7:30.  As you could probably tell, I haven’t had a whole lot of private time, let alone writing time.  I’m sorry I haven’t written in so long, but just so you all don’t give up on me, I have renewed my subscription here for another year.  So hopefully you will all be hearing more from me, and hopefully with a little more consistency.

This past couple weeks have been rough ones.  The company I am working for, through the temp agency, moved from one location to another.  If any of you know anything about moving a company of approximately 120 people, you will know that the IT department has their hands full.  I volunteered to work as many hours as they could throw my way.  Last week, starting on Valentines Day, I put in a grand total of 100 hours.  This week, however, I think it is going to be slightly lower than that amount, but I will still be getting about 53 hours.  These add up to pretty good paychecks!  Now if they would only hire me permanently, so I can actually find a place to live in the city.  Driving back and forth is killing me and my private time.  These past couple weeks, I have been staying in a basement apartment that a couple friends of mine have.  They don’t want to rent it out, though, because they don’t want to have to put everything in storage that they have down here.  I would not have made it if I was driving back and forth all this time.  As it is, my mind is mush, and my body is telling me to STOP doing this!  šŸ™‚

Last night was the second night I was actually off at a decent hour, and I knew I was staying in town, so I went out with some friends for supper at an Ethiopian restaraunt.  They had great food, but the eating style was a little different.  LOL  After eating out, I went over to my bar where I play pool, and played in the tournament.  I was so tired, I told my friend I was playing against first, that I wanted him to beat me, so I could go home and go to bed.  Of course, I beat him, then I won the next round, too.  The next round, which was the finals, I lost because I missed the shot on the eight ball and left it lined up for my opponent.  I don’t mind so much losing to him, though, because he is a professional pool player!  (but I really should have beat him)  Oh well, second place isn’t too bad!  I get points towards the year end tournament, and I won approximately $30 in drink coupons!  šŸ™‚  Can’t go wrong with free drinks, right?  Now if I can just keep winning in the tournaments, I won’t have to buy any drinks!  šŸ™‚

I’m so excited, when I get paid all of this overtime, I am going to go in on Saturday and pay off my car!  I will finally be without a car payment!  Woo HOO!!!  Party Saturday night!  šŸ™‚

Other than working, and playing pool for entertainment, I really have not been doing too much of anything.  I haven’t had time to do anything else, so I guess I have been leading a pretty boring life.  All the work is paying off, though, because I have users throughout the firm telling the people in charge that they need to keep me working there!  That’s always good to hear!  Great ego boost!  (like I need that!)  LOL

Well…  I guess that pretty much catches everyone up on my life…  Still hanging in there, but not a whole lot of exciting news to spread around.  Sorry.  Perhaps soon!  šŸ™‚

My, what teeny tiny font you have, Sunshine. Good thing I knew all of this stuff already.

Glad to know you’re still alive! And having no car payment is a great accomplishment, esp. given what you’ve gone through lately. Keep plugging away; sooner or later something will break. Something other than you, I mean šŸ™‚

It is teeny font. I had to use the larger font to read.

I thought that I was going to fall over when I noticed that you had updated! Woo hoo! It is a good feeling to be without a car payment. I think I know what your next entry is about ~ I miss Edith Ann too. I don’t know where she went! šŸ™
