Tired- but happy Grandma
Hmmmm, how come when I talk to Logan or whatever and call myself Grandma it doesn’t sound old, but writing and then seeing it DOES!? 😉
Thank you all for your thoughts, prayers and wishes to us all. I passed them on, it was so nice to open my diary and see them! {{{{hugs}}}}
Logan is just doing wonderfully. He wasn’t nursing much at first, and he’s sleepy so when he did he’d fall asleep right away! But now he’s eating like a champ. He is so precious I can hardly stand it. We are all simply googoo over him. It’s impossible not to be! I am in heaven because they are staying here. I brought them (Logan, Brie and Carl) here last Thurs., and our house is overtaken by this little one. My centerpieces are now diapers, or diaperbags, or something of the sort. Kitchen and DR tables covered with pictures and cards and flowers and more baby things. *L* It looks wonderful.
I get to see my little man all the time, and any time I want I can peek in on him thru’ the night too. Ahhh, bliss.
His mommy is happy and in love with him, but she has developed a spinal headache and her milk is coming in, so she is in a world of hurt. Tho’ Logan is latching on correctly, nursing is still painful too. It’s like, “There honey, good boy-ooooouchhhh-good Logan, mommy loves you-ohhhh” grits teeth. Poor Brie. We all groan with her and our faces sort of mirror hers…smile, grimace, etc. Then we all crack up. Ha, we should be videotaping!
If her spinal headache does not go away, she’ll have to go in on Mon. where her doc will draw blood from her, then put it in where the epidural went in. OUCH. We’re all praying it goes away. Since she had a lot of back labor, and epidurals can’t do much about those, it’s sort of a bummer she had one. Altho’ it certainly did speed up her labor, which is a good thing.
Carl is wonderful with her and with Logan, they tagteam excellently already. We’re very thankful she has a good helpmate there.
She’s nursing him right now, so I decided I better come in and make an entry! Then I’ll get to go hold him awhile before he finishes on the other side. He sure stays awake a long time, I don’t remember that with my girls, but then it’s been a while. *snort* He’s usually awake 2 – 3 hours at a time during the day. Sleeping good at night…eats around midnight, then 5 am.
I still haven’t caught up on my sleep, but there’ll be time for that later. Right now I want Brie and Carl to catch up on theirs, although Brie is the one who is so tired of course. Plus that gives me extra time with Logan.
This morning, hubs, Carl and I went over to mom and dad’s to load their UHaul, got there by 8 so we were back home by 10 or so. I ran right up to give kisses (and I KNOW he was missing his grandma) and I took him so Brie could sleep on. He woke up in my arms a half hr. or so later. I was holding him and me and Chels were laughing at his waking up stretches and faces, when I felt a suspiciously warm patch growing around my hip. !! Him peed right thru’ his undershirt, sleeper, and two blankets-he was laying on his side sort of-any way right thru’ there down his leg on me!! *L* Stretching and looking adorably innocent and precious as he did so. 😉
It was so so nice to hold him after I got home. I am happy for mom and dad, but yet it was sad for me and I cried on the way home because now they’ll be a few hours away again. I’m sick of goodbyes in this family let me tell you. But then I came home and held Logan and looked at him and it was healing. Grandma all better. *s*
Oops, there he is…yep, I hear him calling my name. I know he’s just 4 days old, but he is extremely intelligent you know. *w*
**I tried posting this yesterday, but no go. I’m picking up pics tomorrow and will post them as soon as I can. :)**
He sounds adorable! I’m so glad that you are getting to spoil him right under your own roof! Hope Brie feels better soon! Glad Carl isn’t disappointing you! You’ve all been in my thoughts. Can’t wait to see pics! Take care xoxo

See – he was worth waiting for wasn’t he?? I can just picture the house! It’s brilliant Brie & Carl have you ‘on tap’ so to speak & I’m really pleased Carl is coming up to scratch. I’ve never heard of a spinal headache before – is that as a direct result of the epidural?

Wow, where to start?? I’m so, so happy for you!! I’m happy for Brie, for Carl,for all of you! I’m so pleased that Carl is shaping up – nothing like a small, totally dependent being to put things in perspective, eh? 😉 Well, Grandma, Bride & I are improving daily, thanks for the thoughts! I’m beat now, but I’m staying up while Bride sleeps to get some “ME” time. Hope we can talk soon!!
