is it july? it can’t be november.

it’s just like christmas around me……
i am the receiver.

i wandered off and spent a wonderful time with the girls in wachahachie and had a grand time on halloween.  some of jenn’s friends came by the house and i met them.
i thought they seemed real emo…. you know,  dark and moody looking.  so i just kind of wondered what jenn could get out of being friends with goth-people.
they came back a night later and hung out some more.  while wandering in and out of the house where people were congregating to smoke, all 4 stopped and asked me what i was doing.
and jenn wandered by and showed them bracelets i had done after the bead show.  they got excited and asked jenn to ask me if i would teach them and let them make bracelets for their mom’s for christmas.  i laughed at my silly assed old self for thinking these guys were goofballs.  they are great young people.  i taught my first jewelry class and gave lessons on TWO different bracelets.  part of the class doing one and the other making another.
i also taught hannah a simple pattern and she picked out beautiful colored beads her mama will love and made a fantastic anemone stitch braclet for her mom.  her mom will cherish it and hannah did the work.
i taught jenn how to make 2 bracelets and a couple of wire techniques.  and i learned to do many new things with beads and thread.
i posted one or two of these on facebook.  so, some may see redundancy.

my most huge news is that i am going to be a puppy mama!  blanca is coming to our house to live just as soon as she is big enough and ready to leave her mama.  officially she will be called dustin’s dog.  he is supposed to take her when he leaves out on his own.  he is in no hurry to leave either.  he likes it here.  i’m kind of glad.  aren’t the cats going to be surprised?
this is her right after she was born.  her eyes are opening this week.  the next picture is from this past weekend while her eyes are trying to open.  you can’t tell that because she is zonked out.  she will be a smallish dog.

so this is a pod.  keith used to do stained glass.  and he found a deal on these glass drops.  we bought them in a new-age store and they called them dragon tears.  there are a lot of them and lots of colors.  this one is white because the white beads were in front of me.  i had the idea to wrap these to practice my peyote for beaded bezels for stones.  i made 3 so far.  and then i made a necklace with them.

i made this necklace while i was in waxahachie.  i learned to do tubular peyote stitch.  it is relaxing. i also learned a couple of knots in macrame.  it came in handy for the neck-straps to hold the tube in place.
i am ready to make another one.  been waiting on new seed beads.  they came today.
see?  more christmas-like goings-on.

remember that entry i did and just posted pictures ready to go into etsy?  i sold one of the necklaces.

i have a lot to be grateful for.and i am.
one of my friends came over today.  she started bitching about something.  so i told her about how another of my friends is calling november a no-bitch month….. and how this friend also said that one thing she already learned was that bitching about a thing generally did not change outcomes.  my friend was impressed and she quit bitching and we went on to something else.  she is going to give it ago and see how it goes.

Goths tend to be nice kids. Books and cover comes to mind. Small dogs are easier to handle if they are going to be house dogs. They are not so prone to knock over furniture when young. Some love jewelry again. ~ Hugs ~

RYNote. Nice to see you back. To make the rings we wrap wire closely round a mandrill, then wrap them in tape, then saw through them; then it the tedious filing and polishing. IÂ’ve just finished a bracelet with 19 rings, 9 large and 10 smaller. The large ones were soldered and had ridges hammered on to them, the 10 small rings were soldered linking up the large rings and a small ring on each end.

RYNote 2. To close the bracelet I made an ‘S’ shaped clasp, I had to make a ball on each end, once the silver is clean I held the wire vertical and heat the lower end until it melts, surface tension pulls the silver up to form the ball; after than it is bending and polishing! With all this heating with gas torch’s I have less hair on my right hand! I’m just putting my next entry ready about this!
