Well, that didn’t last long, did it?  All good intentions obviously but work once again reared it’s ugly head.  Hopefully with the move to the new surgery next week this shouldn’t be a problem.  At the one I have just left we averaged around 15-18 calls per day.  Friday I had 21.  On Friday afternoon, one of my new colleagues phoned me with my work for Monday……8 calls!  I said is that all? She said yes we’ve all got about the same this is normal.  I then told her that I was just about to do my afternoon run, which alone had 7 visits!  She couldn’t believe how many I had done for the day.  Since August this number of visits has been normal for our area.  Now I see why none of the other teams could understand just how busy we were! I think I am going to enjoy my new place!!

One of the presents I got for Xmas was a Kindle reader, the 3G one.  It was a total surprise.  I had not even considered one, but, boy, am I enjoying it!  I’ve got about 6 books on there already.  With the new worktime  I may even get some more use out of it! LOL

I forgot to tell you all in the update about Dawn’s little hospital visit.  For some months her “women’s woes” had been getting worse and the stomach cramps were really pulverising her.  After visits to the doctors, referrals, scans etc. she was diagnosed with fibroids.  When she had a camera inserted they discovered that the main one nearly filled her womb! As such she had to have a total hysterectomy back in October. When they removed the fibroid it was the approximate size of a 4-month foetus!  Of course this really laid her low for a few weeks.  I wasn’t looking forward to working all day with the demand we were under and then having to come home and cook, but I was prepared to do it.  Then up stepped a shining knight in the form of none other than Lee!  Bless him, he took over the kitchen , with Dawn just directing and soon was doing every evening meal, even planning the next days menu and organising the shopping.  Pretty soon he was doing it all on his own without Dawn’s guidance.  Of course, now Dawn is a  lot better he is pulling back a bit…he’s done his job! LOL But he really took so much pressure off me it was a godsend.

Just after Dawn came out of hospital (she was only for 2 days) her leg became really painful and she was struggling to walk. We got her to the docs who organised her  to go in for a scan and gave her an injection because of a suspected DVT.  The scan people said there was a section they couldn’t see clearly but they were almost certain she didn’t have a DVT! Talk about crass!! She came home with no medication and still had a painful leg.  I bought aspirin over the counter and told her to start taking it regularly.  Within 4 days her leg was a lot easier, and now she is back to normal.  But she is still taking aspirin!

I actually managed to get out on my bike today.  The day was dry, mix of sun and cloud and a little fresh, but with the right gear on it was a real pleasant ride.  I’ve done 200 miles on the bike so far, need to another 300 for the first service, when I can have my new exhausts fitted.  If the weather stays like this I shall be out on it regularly.

My regular readers may remember that Lee lost his licence after being stopped twice for speeding within his first year after passing his test.  He has had to sit the whole thing again, but due to financial restraints we have not been able to afford it until he got his claim sorted.  He passed his theory test last week and has the practical test on Monday so everything crossed he will pass it so he can get out on his CanAm. (Picture below).  He’s talking about going down to Cornwall next weekend to see Vicki.  Wouldn’t surprise me if he does it too! LOL

Paula celebrated her 29th birthday on Friday .  The whole family clubbed together and bought her a personalised number plate for their car! She was over the moon with it.

Well, I think that’s all for now.  You may get some more surveys throughout the month depending if I can be bothered LOL

Fabulous machine he is going to drive! Wow. I hope all will go well for him this year as we.. Very proud of Lee for taking over the kitchen. You probably have a great chef in the making there, given that men are the best cooks in the world.

Good news all around. My Empathy to Dawn. I have spent Nov/Dec going through the processes trying to avoid the hyter. Not looking good tho. Life brings us what it will. How wonderful Lee is now able to step up to the plate and be a caregiver. That said, it feels like we’ve been friends forever. My, my what we’ve been through, eh?!!
