Update

Yes, I’m still around, just never seem to have time for much these days.
Itemised update: –
·         Job still going well. Getting more used to it, more organised and passing all assessments.
·         Busy going to events with the Triumph Owners Motorcycle Club (TOMCC) and having a great time. The big BMF rally 3 weeks ago , and Classic M/cycle show yesterday were two big events we as a club exhibited at. Great ride out, great friends, great fun.
·         Rode the demonstrator of the Triumph Thunderbird (1600cc parallel twin custom style) and thoroughly loved it. All I need to now is to persuade Dawn I really “Need” one LOL. I won’t get rid of the Trophy, “Beauty”, because it will become a Classic in the not too distant future, as Triumph don’t make a 4-cylinder bike anymore.
·         Landlords of our house are moving back to the UK in august and want the house back. So that means we need to look for somewhere new. We have already found somewhere and have applied for it already. I guess the sooner we get sorted the better.
·         We need to move to a bungalow anyway (which this one is) as Lee is having his operation on Thursday to amputate his right leg above knee. Despite 18 months of waiting the femur is still non-union and he is just fed up of waiting. The only alternative was more operations and a further 3 years waiting with no guarantees of the outcome.
·         We got a new cat, George, after losing Clyde, but are having problems with him. We were told he’s about 1yr old, but we think he is a fair bit older. He has spent most of his life in the kennels with his sister, who was adopted recently. When Lee and Dawn went to see him in the kennels he was all fussy and playful, but since we got him home he has become a hell of a nervous cat. Hides in any place he can get away from us, won’t come for any fuss and in fact runs away from us if we get too close. He is eating and drinking Ok now, that took about 4 days. Unfortunately he got out a few nights ago and we “lost” him for a night but he obviously stayed in the garden somewhere and now comes in and out when he wants food, runs round the garden playing with Bonnie, but still keeps away from us. He’s not AS nervous as he was so we are hoping that he will come round eventually.
·         Today (31st) is Vicki’s 25th birthday so it’s family BBQ time at the RNBiker household. Weather forecast says today is supposed to be the best of the weekend.
·         A close uncle was recently struck down by a seizure. Took him to hospital, did tests, found a benign brain tumour with an extended lesion, that they suspect caused the seizure. He’s had 2 more since. After more tests they also discovered he has lung cancer (life-time smoker) which is untreatable. No time given as yet.
Well, that’s about all for now. Hope you are all well and living life to the fullest you can. This is no dress rehearsal, it’s for real! ENJOY!

Wishing all the best to you and yours, and especially to Lee…

so where’s pix of the baby girl!?!?!!? your george is like our lenore and elizabeth. Hubbub says they both stayed under the bed for the first three years. they’ll come around eventually. bonnie will see to that as soon as he bonds to her, then you. be patient. he needs your good home and loving. pix??

Sorry about your uncle. And Lee’s leg. I will keep them both in my prayers. The cat will probably warm up in time. My Ash was like that. Hid in my son’s room behind furniture for the first 3 days. Then hid from everyone for the first two months. (He was 6 yrs old when I got him.)Now he’s a love bug. Everyone comments on how they want to steal him because he’s such a snuggler and so friendly. He’s even like that with my Dad, whom no animals seem to warm up to.

Wow, Amputation huh? Stil – better Life without a limb ratyher than no life at all! Happy Bithday Vicky. Your new cat will adjust in no time. – He has expert handlers with many years of experience.:D Emmi

sorry to hear about the needed amptutation for Lee, but a bungalow sounds like a better option and what better reason! Good luck with sorting and packing….but please don’t try to move it all on the back of the bike will ya’…lol. Hugs P
