Beauty’s back…and Murder most fowl!
I got my bike back! She’s all better again now after having all that surgery done. Head gasket definitely needing replacing. Previous one was almost fried. Reason being , they found 2 corroded connectors to the electric fan, meaning it wasn’t cutting in when the bike got warm. The service staff were well impressed with the replacement coils I found and said they will definitely remember that for the next time. Dead coils on Triumph Trophy’s are a common occurrence as they get older.
So I picked her up on Wednesday afternoon and she goes like a dream. The mechanic said she is one of the best he’s ridden. They have a 900 Triple in the showroom, second hand. Younger , less miles and a lot rougher than mine! Good ol’ Beauty!
And just in time really, I’m off on the first Triumph Owners Club ride of the year ( for me!) . We’re off to the coast, to Skegness, via a country park where the Owners’ Club rally will be held in May, to check it out. Vicki, No.2 daughter, is coming with me. She loves coming on the bike, Dawn doesn’t, and Paula ( No.1 Daughter) is in no fit state to ride on a bike as she is within 6 weeks of producing grandchild No.3! So Vicki is gonna keep me company. I think she just wants the fish n chips at the seaside!
We have a murderer in the family! Young Clyde, one of the kittens, brought home his first “present” today! They use the kitchen window to come in and out of their own free will most of the day, and this afternoon, I heard a hell of a racket in the hall. Lots of squawking, so I dived into there and Clyde was there with this young blackbird in his mouth. I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, he let the bird go and that flew/hopped into the lounge, while I flung the cat into the kitchen. I used a towel to catch the bird as it was still pretty scared. I deposited it as high up in a bush as I could reach, but there was blood on the towel when I removed it. A bit later in the evening we had to let them out again as they seldom use the litter tray now, preferring the outdoors for their toilet needs. They were both out for a couple of hours as usual. Clyde was the first one back, and he had found the bird again. This time it hadn’t survived. Whether it had already died from shock, or Clyde had found it and finished it off, but it certainly had less feathers than last time and the chest was open and bloody. Again I managed to get it off him and disposed of the carcase before Dawn could see it and totally freak out! I know it’s natural thing for the cats to do, but it’s still not nice. Of course, he’s just gone to bed now, thinking nothing of it and it’s us that’s left traumatised! LOL
Right that’s all for now. I’ll write again when I get back from the run to let y’all know what a brilliant time we’ve had!

Yeh!! You’ve got your bike back. I thought you were looking a bit strange: like a cowboy with no horse! Very pleased to hear that BB is back. Have two cats: It’s the girl who does all the killing – the war is always about who is going to claim it as a trophy. If the boy gets it away from her, he’ll eat it. If she manages to retain it – she wants to show it to us. Argh! All the best on the trip!:D

now just wait for your cats to start “providing” for you by depositing the kill in your bed…
