Well, I guess I really messed the survey thing up, didn’t I? But in a good way.
Work is getting busier and it’s all good. I have 2 full weeks of meetings to come, with some travelling to do to meet the nurses I’ll be working with. That’s no problem as I get my mileage allowance paid and will end up better off!
The weather has improved. Well, at least it’s stop snowing and is getting warmer. It’s raining well, but I can handle that. Hopefully I will be getting my bike to the shop this coming week to get the electrics sorted and a new rear tyre fitted. Then I can use the bike for travelling about .
Lee’s consultant appointment was on Wednesday. The Xrays showed that there was something happening at the fracture site but not enough to be sure it has fully healed. He basically has 2 options. First he can continue as he is, wait till the fracture is fully healed, then they would have to re-break the leg further up to lengthen the femur as its about 20cm shorter than the other. THEN he would need his knee sorting out (he only has about 10 degrees of movement at present), THEN he would have to have his tibia sorted out as that is also non-union. All this would take another 3-4 years. AND there is no guarantee that the re-break would not also end up as non-union. The other option is amputation. We are talking to experts about this for some sort of advice so he can make a fully informed decision. We expect that if he went this route then he would be walking again in about 12 months. His next appointment is for May, but I have a feeling he will make the decision before that.
For my part, I had a GP appointment on Friday for a medication review. I have them regularly every 6 months. I have been on blood pressure medication for some years since my m/cycle accident in ’94. My blood pressure is the lowest it has been for ages, my pulse has gone down from 82 which again it has been for some time, to 70. I have lost half a stone in weight, and my mood has lifted no end since I was put on my “happy pills”. Result of the visit was that the latter has been cut in half, and if my BP stays the same next visit, we’ll start talking about cutting that down too. I am putting this down to the change of job and my weight loss (which I am hoping will continue!).
And that is about that as far as I can think of for now. I will try to do more surveys but I’m not going to carry on trying to keep up with JaSurMo, but they are fun so I’ll do a few more! That will please Torin! LMAO.
Take care, people.

I’m glad you are liking the new job! And great news about your health. How much is half a stone in pounds? I’m lost on that stuff because I am a dumb American.

surveys are fun and often enlightening, but I still prefer real entries about one’s life….thank you. hugs P

RYN: Yes we can hunt them as many as we can. although it isn’t the solution really. But they are a pest everywhere, too many of them all over the country with too little natural enemies. And thanks for your thoughts!!
