I chose to take it really easy this weekend and skip the cemetery trip with the group this evening.   It is cold, foggy, and I worked for a few hours this morning and I am tired.   I was at the hospital last night with J’s family as FIL was having his test and then we came here for a quick bite.   We got the BEST news.   He did not have any heart attacks nor was half of his heart dead.   It is a bit weakened, enough to where they have him on meds for likely life, but it is so mild compared to the original news that we received.   J and his mom can really relax now.   I have seen how hard on him it has been, and he hasn’t been himself at all.   So when I went to work, J and Kooky came here.   I joined them after I was done and we just hung out for a bit.   I got the thrift shop pull, and we all piled into the SUV minus FIL (he needs to rest) and off we went.   Kooky scored.   I got her a few PJ pants, nightgowns, and some random clothes.   Grandma selected a few movies and toys and a puzzle to keep over here for her to play with.   She hasn’t had much since her infant toys were disposed of and everything together cost about $40.   For myself I grabbed some good jeans and Kooky also got 2 pairs of shoes for when her feet are bigger.   It was nice to get out.   Woke me up.   I have been so very tired from working, and I also try and do things with Kooky that are holiday related or just fun.

Thursday we went to a senior apartment building for an event called Dessert with Dickens.   They sang Christmas songs, read A Christmas Story, and served fab treats.   We donated canned food to go.  It was mostly filled with residents and their families, but it was fun.  The pumpkin cheesecake was to die for, and it made my tired arse feel quite festive.   Kooky got a bit wild during the story telling, but I took her into the library to chil her out.   We attempted to win a holiday Barbie in a raffle, but lost much to her dismay.   I assured her that with birthday and Christmas coming up, she would score at least a couple Barbie’s.   There was a woman there that had something like Down’s and her eyes were noticeably not like yours and mine.   Kooky noticed this, and expressed a lot of concern through the following day.   Sis and I explained that she was fine and got around OK and was happy, and that some people are born with sick eyes like that.  It was nice that she was concerned instead of treating it like a freak show.   She was a really good girl there for being pretty young for such an event.   But I like to expose her to different things.

Tomorrow night, it is a mommy/daughter date to see The Nutcracker.   I was not planning on going, but J was telling her about it as he thought that I had purchased tickets and she was happy.   So I did.   Just for a local performance as opposed to the very pricey one I had originally looked into.   We watched some of it on TV and she really got into it.   We’ll see.   She might get bored a bit into it.   I am going to dress her up fancy and find myself some nice clothes too.
