It has been a good Saturday for me.   I got up early with Kooky & met up with the mo’s group for a peppermint hot chocolate at Starbucks followed by a walk to a local park.   There was only a few mommy’s there, but it was a good group.   For the record, I HATE that kind of thing from past experience.   But I knew one of the organizers through Avon and I thought that might make it bearable.   It did.   She is a cool cat and I liked the others a lot as well.   The park was nice.   Kooky kind of finds her way into other groups easily right now, be it one kid or a few.   Ages mean nothing, and she’ll play with her age and up quite happily.   She was on that park toy that kids sit on and someone spins it, but I cannot remember the name of it.   It looked like she let go, tumbled a very short way to the sane, and got up only to run to me crying.   She scraped up her chin a bit and the father doing the spinning rushed over to me full of apologies.   I smiled and told him no worries, as I know her and her tendency for small accidents like that.   She was all pissy after that and once she started throwing bark around, I decided it was time to head to the car.   One of the moms asked me about other groups I am involved in through this site, and I felt so utterly foolish when I admitted to the paranormal investigation one.   It sounds like I am a freak, but I likely am comparatively.

Speaking of which, I headed to a local cemetery for a day visit after that.   The one my dear friend and babe are buried at.   I admit that I had a slight fear of getting an EVP where they are at, but it turns out that I really only taped conversation between Kooky and I.   It is so peaceful and beautiful there though.   There are a nice mix of old & new headstones, with all kinds of dates on them.   There were trees turning red, geese running all about, and a kind old horse that has lived adjacent to the place for years.   He came right over to us for a visit and a pat on the head, with a promise of red apples with our next visit.   There were many flowers, pumpkins, and decor on the graves and that is what Kooky likes to look at.

I came home and made a menu for the month.   I hear so many of you doing that, and I NEED to budget on our food bill.   For 3, it is insane in my opinion.   I made a roast in the crock pot last night and shredded the rest tonight with BBQ sauce for sandwiches that’ll last through tomorrow.   Yummy both ways, and makes every bit of the kind of expensive meat eaten rather than thrown away.   On my menu, I make things than can be frozen and used for leftovers on nights like soccer night.   But I am happily taking in new ideas….hint hint hint.   My email is celticmoon14@yahoo.com, for ANYONE that wants to contribute.    Keep in mind that I am a working mom that kind of has to keep it simple.   🙂   I dream of the day I can cook all afternoon for my family, but wait!   That’ll be Thanksgiving!   I am taking it on this year, at least the turkey part.   I am tired to death of splitting up time with families in one day, adn that way anyone is welcome to come over.   J’s parents are obviously having a rough time right now and not even focused on the day, so it may help them.

I went to a couple of stores for the slim Halloween clearance items, and found a few for the upcoming party.   Black treat bags, gummy gross things (eyeballes, fingers, that type of thing). Halloween pencils, and some little toys that I can toss in.   I also have fangs and glow necklaces.   All for about $10 maybe?   I’ll be spending on lawn decor for the lass next year due to my lack of shopping after Halloween this time though.

I struggle to do a weeks menu planning at a time, a whole month done at once would be bliss!

I love walking through cemeteries. They are so beautiful and peaceful despite the so called “scary” aspect of walking around dead people. I wish I could give you some great ideas for meals but I’m 1 person and most of my meals consist of poor woman food. Nuggets, ramen, mac n cheese. *lol*
