House Talk

No I haven’t been hiding, I just forget to come here now days with Facebook and I update my status more so there and I forget to come here. I know status updates aren’t really enties but somehow I get sucked into it all the time. The first two months has seens some great developments in our lifes. The end of January saw Matt and I looking at our money and trying to work out what are we going to do with it and time to get out of this rental and get ourselfs into a real house. After much looking around we are going to build a house in Melton. It’s the town where I grew up which I’m finding a little funny at the moment but it’s really taking off new housing wise and that is something that we where looking for. It’s a bit far from the city that I was hoping for, but sometimes you can’t have it all.

This will be the view from the front of the house for a little while, before the estate becomes built up and more people start buying and building.

Callum walking on the other side of the road which one day will be a row of houses. At this stage our block didn’t have a road going to it, nor was it mark out. So really Matt and I bought a block of land we hadn’t seen aswell as a house that we have never walked thru. We are buying right of the plans. But of course I want some changes, just little things like bigger stove from 600mm to 900mm. Longer kitchen benches. Nothing that is to over the top. We went out to see the block yesterday and I forgot my camera, but the road has now been made and the entry to our court has also been made and two blocks of land have been pegged out. One of the blocks that has been pegged out if ours 🙂 Was nice to see how wide and the deapth of our block. Is starting to feel more real now. I paid the down payment on friday morning on internet banking, and then spoke to the agent on the phone. She will call us once the money has cleared over and then we get our appt with the builder to start picking out tile, carpet and wall paint colours!

Brilliant news! I saw these pictures on Facebook recently and wondered if you were building (but didn’t want to ask in fear of sounding silly ;P).
