The Butterfly Estate
We had some beautiful weather here in Melbourne today! The sun was out and it’s warmth was just beautiful. I spent some of the day out in the Garden in the vegy patch. I pulled out the weeds and I couldn’t believe that I found I still had carrots growing! I couldn’t believe it. They are small but the seeds have come up, so I have moved them into more light and fingers crossed they should grow nice and big now. I have to say I have missed my garden and like a old lady I didn’t do much in the cold weather bad bad me but now that it’s warming up I have promised myself to get outside more and get into the Sunshine and Garden and relax in it.
Here is some of the broccoli that is growing. It’s just one of six that are starting to come through now. And I have to say really we did was plant them, I was naughty and forgot about them but here they are growing strong.
Now while the weather is warm Callum has been asking me non stop can we go to the park, can we go to park, can I ride my bike mum! So today after I got him from Day Care School we went for a walk and he rode his bike. He did so well and made it most of the way to the park it’s about 5 blocks from our house and he rode for most of it. I think he was a little tired from running around all day.
I took this at the half way point. The park is just beyond where the blue car is in the photo.
Perfect Afternoon for a slide isn’t it Mum?
Our housing estate is what I call the Butterfly Estate. When you walk around the estate there are butterflies in the paths, and once you make it to the park you can find the life cycle of a butterfly. Its very interesting I have to say.
Even the name of our street which is "Papillon" means butterfly.
Anyways I will always think that this is a very girly housing estate now. Even the light poles have butterlies on them, you maybe able to make them out when looking at Callum on his bike.
But you know what, the butterflies are really starting to grow on me now, and hey at heart I think I have always been a girly girl, but she was wrapped up in fat and hidden away in the layers!
Yeah even the BBQ area has a butterfly for cover!
So maybe now it’s just over kill who knows? But it really seems to work for this estate. Thanks for taking a walk with me!

I’d love to live somewhere butterfly themed, it seems delightful to me. =)

so lovely! I want to live on Papillon, hehe. Way to go Callum for the bike riding! That’s the size of bike Cole learned to ride without training wheels (last week, and he’s miles too big for it).. but small bikes are fantastic for learning on, so dont’ get rid of it when he outgrows it!

I think the butterflies are gorgeous. I love it how they’re planning housing estates to be beautiful as well as functional these days. It will be lovely when those new trees grow up and be lush and green. 🙂

The chromatic aberration in the second photo is actually making for a cool effect with your contrast bump. 😀
