I’m a Real Mummy Now
The big day has come, Callum is at home. Matt and I brought our little boy home yesterday afternoon, 6 Weeks to the date that he was born. The longest 6 weeks of my life.
Callum now weighs 2.040 kilos and is still a little yellow. But it’s starting to clear up now that he has been in the sun light. He is just so very little still. I have a nurse/midwife come to the house once a day to just check up on him and make shore that he is feeding ok. Our first night went really well. He is waking very 3 hours for feeds and doesn’t really cry all that much. He just makes sucking noises and then I know that he is wanting to feed. We do have to keep a close on his temp, if he is to high, he will sweat to much, and if he is too cold he will burn body fat, which he doesn’t have that much of and that means he won’t gane weigh.. A temp of 36.8c is just right.
Right now Callum is laying on his sheep skin in the living room sleeping. He does a lot of sleeping. But I know that when he is growing :o)

CONGRATULATIONS!! How wonderful! I’m so happy for you. š This msut be so great. He’s SO SMALL. Is he nursing only every 3 hours during the day?? You might want to offer to the breast a little more, so he can get his nursing skills up, and your milk supply will be where it should. ~:) Babs

I have just read your diary from the day he was born until now, and your diary has brought me to tears. The one thing I am scared of, is exactly what has happened to you. I am scared my babies will be born early and I wont be able to be with them when they are first born. You are one strong woman, and look at him, he is so precious. Ohh he is so cute and tiny. It’s nice to read a detailed diary of what it’s like to have a baby. I like that you put all the pictures in your diary. Please tell me how to put pictures in, so when my baby is born I can do the same.

Thanks for the note! RYN:I am living in a small town, and I am having the babies in a town about 2 hours from here. When I go talk to my doctor there I will be sure to ask to see the hospital and such. What a good idea to be prepared just in case. Hows the little guy? š
