Over a Month old

Eight days is a lot of time in Callum’s life. He now weighs 1.780kilo which is 3.92 pounds. He really is getting bigger and fatter. He is almost over to just breastfeeds now. He is being bottled feed in the night, due to that we can’t be there or if in the morning Matt goes in for his 6am feed he gets to feed him with the bottle. Even so sometimes after I feed him, its good to top him up with the bottle just to make shore that he is getting his full feed from me, which in the last couple of days has been perfect. The bottle beats having to tube feed him.

He is coming out of his Isolette tomorrow. It’s a big step into a open cot. He has to be able to keep his temp. I think he will do good. he may get cold in the night. Then I don’t really know till tomorrow. If all that goes good, he just has to keep putting on weigh to 2.000 kilos and he can come home :o)

I can almost feel him here with us now. It’s been a long 4 weeks 5 days. But he is almost home.

WOWIE, almost a month already?! That’s incredible! I’m so glad he’s doing so well. Be careful about the bottle though, preemies are more suseptible to nipple confusion. Are you going to ditch it (and any pacifiers) after he gets home? ~:) Babs
