Myaka State Park

Write a short story inspired by this picture:

Last May when my daughter and grandchildren visited us in Florida we took them to Myaka State Park…..the park has many dedicated volunteers…who worked to support the building of a ten story look out tower.  This tower enables visitors to view the park vista overlooking the tree canopys.  To get to the tower one must cross a wonderful suspension bridge that is crossed in a single file line.  Of course, Grandpa Stanley had to bounce the bridge as we crossed in single file….He was reprimanded by the Park Ranger as we approached the 10 story tower….always the little prankster….Peter Pan in disguise….the grandkids were tickled that their Grandpa had been scolded by the Park Ranger…..me on the other hand took it in stride…..he will always be an ornery kid……

Looking out over the park visita is breathtaking….to be so high up ….as we climbed to the lookout there are little plagues on every level naming the many volunteers and groups who participated and donated to build the tower.  The land is flat but the tree leaves do have variation and different shades of green and browns and yellows looking out and down over the canopy.  Spanish moss hangs on trees giving them an eerie appearance…..the next picture shows this view.

Looks like an interesting place to visit; what weird trees. ryn: CA voted a couple of yrs. back to let gays & lesbians “get married.” Prop. 8 wants to amend this law & not let these people “get married.”& I am against it. I added an additional comment you might like to read that shd. clarify the whole thing for you.

What an interesting place thanks for sharing. I love the tree with the moss.

How intriguing, I could think of all sorts of scenarios of what lies across and maybe underneath that bridge. I wonder what our friend Mr King would make of it.
