Baby its cold outside!

Good morning,  I’ve got the fireplace blazing and I’ve got my snuggy robe on.  The windows are all steamy.  We prepared last night by covering all the plants that we could.  The cactus garden looks like a ghost gathering with all the assortment of old sheets moving in the wind.  35 degrees F here at 6am.   I am supposed to be using this time to walk on my treadmill but I can always come up with an excuse.  I need a kickstart…and a little gold cocktail dress for a post holiday party with Stanley’s work group is whispering to low….I need a megaphone blast…

We had a wonderful quiet holiday season.  We spent most of our time with our wonderful neighbors and work friends.  I did go to Orlando  Dec 6 and 7 to watch my grandson from California play in the national championship PeeWee Pop Warner league football game.  His team WON! and the Hollister Vikings are #1 in the nation beating a team from CT.  It was wonderful to see my youngest son and 2 of my grandsons.  We spent one day at the Magic Kingdom.  I drove up by myself and stayed off Disney property in a wonderful room at the Hyatt just a quick drive to the Disney resort my son was at.  The place was mobbed with little guys and cheerleaders.

I am way behind with updates and as I sit here my mind is swirling with information from the last few months.  No resolutions for me.  I live my life usually in a self analyzing mode.  That is an old trait that I started when I had to weigh every word to my Dad or my ex.

New Year’s Eve we spent with the RifRaf club.  We wanted to have a progressive dinner, but we only progressed to 2 houses!  Everybody went back home got their dishes and ended up at our house around the campfire.  I know I know Florida is still under a fire watch, but, Stanley does a fine job of fire control and everyone was so delighted to visit and sit around the fire.  We moved into the house about 11:15pm and could not believe that we all had lasted that long.  So we gave ourselves one more good push and a piece of key lime pie and we all made it to 12am 1/1/08 Yeaaaaaaa, we all did get a little teary seeing ole Dick Clark, his post stroke voice jolted us into reality for a moment and then we went back to whoopin and hollarin…Happy New Year!!

an itsy bitsy Stanley and Ollie….oh lordy,,,,will she ever learn?

Dear Itsy Bitsy Ollie, Happy to read an update from you! The progressive dinner that didn’t really progress sounded fun anyway. Congrats to your little grandson too! I don’t really make resolutions either because then I kick myself when I don’t/can’t follow them. I just prefer to have good intentions and at least attempt to follow them. Happy New Year, dear friend.

Hi Ollie. RYN: I always take photos with camera set on largest possible size ( to enable me to print enlargements if I want) and for photo bucket I always cut them to half size anyway or they take too long to upload. Check your camera image size settings if you are using digital…you can still take heaps of pics even with larger size, just not quite so many. I will return shortly to read your entry..a visitor has just popped in. hugs P

ps…also, if you copy paste from photobucket don’t do it from the tiny image in display. Click on the word below and it will open it to a larger size in new window. Then you copy/paste from that. Its all trial and error…*smiles* P

No resolutions here, either. When you say you are going to do something, like quit smoking, and fail to do it, you lose confidence in yourself. The best way is to just do your best and forgive yourself if it doesn’t work out. I was a two pack a day smoker in WW2 times. never resolved to quit smoking, but reduced the cigs in steps I knew ciould manage. Haven’t smoked ever since but could without it bugging my concience. I never quit, just don’t want to smoke.

What a busy girl you have been and another party comin’ up! What fun and what wonderful memories you have made. It is like Spring here and cold there…I still think Mother Nature is going through the change…cold when she’s suppose to be hot and hot when she’s suppose to be cold. ;o) Luv,
