A peaceful weekend

This was just the best weekend for us.  We took our grandson and went hiking in the state park.  We climbed the 10 floors up overlooking the tree canopy.  We stopped and ate and had ice cream.  Yummie…dairy queen smooth vanilla with banana and strawberries and walnuts all mushed together…  We relaxed and forgot all our troubles…well, we tried to.   We had a wonderful fire outside last night even though it was really getting chilly and then it started to rain…that didn’t stop us.  We sat there by the fire in our lawn chairs under our umbrella!  What a wonderful prelude to love day!  We reminised and talked about all the fun and silly things we have done together over the last 20 years together.  I am such a fortunate woman to have such a caring loving man to love.

Today we were totally lazy too!  We kept the furnace off and ran the fireplace off and on all day.  The temp here this am was 47 degrees but the wind was blowing and it felt a lot colder to us rotten spoiled Floridians… I covered my fish ponds with bubble wrap just to keep the fishies comfortable.  We ate corn on the cob, baked tilapia, and broccoli.  Then I had to get ready to head to New Zealand for the Valentine picnic with Polz and all our friends.  I am taking Smores and I hope the airline doesn’t confiscate them. Yikes…well gotta get packed…..See ya!

That sounds like a wonderful weekend. I hope Pat and I have that many years together, and we’ll still be able to sit under an umbrella together in the rain. How sweet it all sounds.

We are having a taste of that chilly weather here as well but with beautiful blue skies! So glad that it was a peaceful time for you all. C is off today and we spent it just browsing around window shopping for the new house. Spring is coming so we will soon be busy planting, weeding and fixing it up. Much love,
