Not Rocks!
I sent one of those all purpose email out to everyone who sent me a caring note about my rocks. I hate doing that sort of thing. One email does not fit all. Unfortunately, I seem to be a mindless human this morning, and I felt a need to communicate.
My clinic, and they were all purpose yesterday, fit me in around two in the afternoon. Im very glad they insisted on seeing me. I wanted to know what was wrong.
No infection. Bone bruise. Muscle inflammation around the bone.
Hello? Now how could I do this costochondritis?* Yes, I had her write it down. They gave me an anti-inflammatory shot in the office and sent me on my way all for fifteen dollars. By the time I boarded the bus for the airport, so I could board another bus to hitch a ride home, there wasnt a lot of me left upstairs. Any sort of body changing pill or shot does that to me. (I wont tell you how long it took me to type this up.) I have to take two of these body changing, anti-inflammatory pills a day for the next five days. This is going to be interesting. To me. Boring for you probably.
I dont think Im going to school today. Walking the two blocks probably wouldnt be a wise thing. I might topple over. I do have to run to the store one block away for one very important thing. Perhaps Ill probably crawl. Maybe Ill use a cane so I dont fall off the middle of the street.
*All I could think of was that I did some damage to myself during my last workout at the gym. I had not been in a week, and had done only light workouts the week before. Perhaps the hundred pound leg presses were too much for the rib thingy.
If I remember, perhaps I should begin that manual on growing old. Now to the drunks elbow, loss of bone mass, memory, muscle tone, skin tone, eyebrows and pubic hair, I need to add costochondritis. And too .there are all those other things I know I have forgotten. What were they now?
Ouch. Do take special care of you, please : ) Hugs

Bone bruise. Yup. Braced myself against the next-to-last step of a ladder while trimming a huge bush. Did it to my shin. Been limping and swelling for a month. Disgusted middle-aged doctor answers my why with “Really, Mrs X, You just can’t do, at your age, the things you weren’t strong enough to do ten years ago.” Sez he!

We have entered the “Maintenance” age. It’s all about maintenance, like an old house with faulty wiring and plumbing. Dammit! It is important to ease into any exercise routine (she says as she nurses her overused right knee). Sending you healing thoughts and prayers.

Leave it to you to find something I can’t even pronounce. As for those mass mailings, your friends appreciate that you care enough to let them know what’s going on. They don’t mind how you do it. I like Gemma’s image of maintaining the old house. Old houses can be a pain, but they have oh so much character. Take care.

Good grief! Never heard of it. But I suppose anything that we got is subject to start hurting or quit working at any point in time. That is, if we live long enough. Boy, that thought made my day!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the shot and pills fix you up good as new, Georgette. These truly are “the days of miracles and wonder,” don’t you think? Take care of you.

Been there, did that a couple of times… worse than a bruised rib. Trying to breathe is a whole new ball game. Major owie… Are you sure it wasn’t caused by coughing or perhaps trouble breathing when you had a cold last time??? You can do that, you know — tear things inside just by coughing wrong. Whatever caused it, I truly feel for you. Take care and get LOTS of rest. It helps… Tehacha

If nothing else, your life is never boring, Georgette. I hope you are feeling much better by now. Bone bruise happens routinely to mail carriers. I really don’t like ‘maintenance’. But I guess I better get used to it! RYN-the post office receipt printer can print out your whole check. You just sign it and the whole thing gets printed up. It will even print your carbon copy,

if you have that kind of check. Please take care, you are a treasure worth ‘maintaining’.

OUCH is right–poor gal. Rest. I’m reading backwards to get the real picture. anti-inflamatory meds of any kind kill my stomach and my stomach is like iron. So sorry this has happened to you.
