Five Things

I borrowed this from Rick 4.0, with permission, who borrowed it from fully caffeinated. Sometimes sideways things are needed to take you out of yourself. This is certainly a little left or right of center and just what I needed to bring forth a smile.

Five things I’ve:

Worn:
A full length muskrat fur coat as my every day coat
garter belts
a giant black three pearl ring
flowers in my hair
three inch heels….to work every day

made:
paintings, and pottery and jewelry and music and on and on
panels for the AIDS Quilt
love
homes and environments that were good
sex in some mad and wonderful places

broken:
many things from my past
my leg
two friendships
an awful lot of toes
the hold of my addictions just for today

seen:
a little of the world
some passionate paintings
colors
the death of two precious friends
humans at their best

taken:
many very long, luxurious baths once even with a band in the bathroom
some great road trips
a birthday trip to London and Paris
(the old way of putting it) a college degree
life by the horns

used:
uppers
wine
sex to find love
an old sports car for a security blanket
an extended family to keep me safe

had:
the middle class home, husband, kids, boat, truck, car, and pets
homelessness and all the despair
lovers and love
a cottage by the sea
art, education, dreams come true, my firteen minutes with money and all that goes with it

Five Things I’ve Never;

worn:
a tiara
men’s underwear
ball gown
football pads
ballet shoes

made:
furniture
a symphony
candles
a computer
a car

broken:
a truck
a bookcase
a horse
(this is a reach for me because I break everything)
some things from my gramma Maudie

seen:
Niagara Falls
Yosemite
Northern states
Arizona
(I see I need to do some traveling)
Most ofEurope

taken:
some drugs
some trips, see above
some lovers
some foods
but mostly, I have taken it all.

used:
a snow plow
surfboard
skis, water or snow
skateboard
ice skates

had:
I had
Yes, I did. No, I didn’t write it all down.
but I’ve had it all, thank you.

OK, I’m going to have to borrow this too – I love it!

Georgette thanks for your lovely notes 🙂 Those are much appreciated. Your comments are always worth reading. Well, it looks like you went to town with the above. Warm Hugs & Sweet Dreams

Wow… (my favorite word!!!) you’ve almost reached what my goal is in this life — die with no regrets. Do and see whatever your heart tells you to. If we don’t risk, we can’t win. I feel very Victorian compared to you… Tehachap

That sounds great! =)

LOL Georgette, ryn I’m not going to Paris just yet. It is very accessible from here, perhaps later in the summer. Thanks for the lovely notes. Hope your weekend goes nicely 🙂

A delightful picture. But……..no Yosemite? No Grand Canyon? Oh, dear. You must go see the grandest cathedrals on the planet!
