Starting Orts
Yesterday I hung out on and off watching the Midway come closer to the port. Delayed several times by mechanical problems with the tug, she showed up late and could be seen only by the light of the full moon. My camera batteries took a dump at the wrong time. No photos. Double darn.
Im plugging away today. Dust is moving, in a very controlled way so I can still breathe, and volumes of organization have taken place. Oh, how tidy that sounds. Over my shoulder I pitch a magazine.
Recycle, I call.
followed by a volume of envelopes left over from the holiday, followed by more orts and conditions and volumes and bits and pieces .and suddenly I can see the computer desk again. I can see the nightstand in the bedroom too. More fool me for using a real butcher block circa the 20s for my end table. It slumps and leans and slides things onto the floor. I have to carefully wedge the TV and the Video machine. I try and catch the papers. Serves me right.
Ive walked. Ive done my homework and feel virtuous. I know you all feel virtuous too. Yes, I ate some chocolate with only three or four fully formed guilt pangs. I keep telling myself that I have to diet or else. I dont think I am firm enough about the or else though. I did get most of the email done and have actually had time to begin reading my favorites. Hurrah!!!!
Best of all I have three more of the Gkid pictures on the wall in 5×7s at last. Bless Kinkos and their photo enlarging machine. I have a really cute one of S in SF with her papa and daddy. No permission to post it here yet tho. She looks quite a bit like her brothers and sisters.
Tomorrow school, gym, and those phone calls I didnt make today. Tomorrow I rack and stack my 2003 paper journal, start another four day period at the business meeting, and begin organization for the taxes.
I wonder how much of that I will really get done?
Since you are already there, tell me, what does the top of a computer desk look like? Haven’t seen mine since it took up habitation in my office.

I’m feeling quite virtuous too. I walked today, in/on 8″ of snow topped by freezing rain. I felt like the little brother in Christmas Story when he fell and couldn’t get up. Yes I fell, and no, I couldn’t get up, but only because it was toward the end of my walk when my knees had turned to rubber and my toes were numb. I would still be there but I had to get up and do the minutes.

I am resolved to let go of papers I’ve kept for far too long… I have no doubt you’ll lose your weight… a little at a time, so it stays gone.I’ve lost a bit more but have another 28 pounds to go. Thinking of you today — you in class, me here at home, trying to get organized. I have my tax envelope started so I’m getting ready for the big T day. Hugs and caring, Tehachap

One of the benefits of being home sick the last two days was that I plowed through a pile of paperwork. Now I feel like I can truly leave 2003 behind! (Far, far behind!) xoxo
