This space available

I recently took a chance to post my Mother’s maiden name on a genealogy bulletin board as well as my sister’s name also. Well, with the wonders of modern science I received a hit on my Mother’s side and am in the process of checking out if there might be some blood relations out there. My Mother was orphaned at a young age and raised by relatives. I am lucky enough to have a 90 year old Aunt who mentally is sharp as a tack. Wouldn’t that be a blast to find cousins or the like?

Since I started in on the Open Diary I have really been surprised by the amount and the kinship of the writers. There seems to be a warmth and camaraderie existing here that surprised me. I myself have received support and messages from a very diverse group of people . Frankly, I was amazed at just how supportive everyone has been. People across the US and other countries as well. This project started as a place for random jottings and has become much more to me. So thanks to all of you .
