I got a job! I just walked into Dairy Queen and they have me an impromptu interview and hired me on the spot. They didn’t even waste time with questions like: If you saw Bob take 10 dollars out of the cash register, what would you do? It’s excellent. I start tomorrow at 7 pm. It’ll be nice not having to ask parents for money anymore. Oh, I finally got to see my best friend yesterday, after 2 long months. We farted around the science center with her friend from France. She’s on an exchange with her.
I’ve taken the time to compile a list of summer reading:
-A Brave New World- Huxley
-Anna Karenina- Tolstoy
-Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
-David Copperfield
-Girls in Pants: the 3rd Summer of the Sisterhood (for pool side reading)
-Anne Frank: the Diary of a Young Girl (I’m not sure I’ll have time for this one.
I’m having 2nd thoughts on accepting the job. I had 2 more interviews today..and maybe I should have told Dairy Queen that I’d get back to them. But I was so surprised when he offered me the job, that I accepted. Oh well, it’s just a summer job. And I get 50% off all the ice cream. Mm…
Wicked is an excellent book. It is nice to see that you’re reading. That is not something people do enough. Have fun this summer and good luck with your job!
