Introduction.

  • My name is Melissa, but I commonly go by Mel. I look somewhat like this:
  • I will have been with my other half, James (also referred to as Thorpe) for two years on the 10th May 2012. He’s 25, and works at Cooper Roller Bearings as an Applications Engineer. This is him, doing his best Derek Zoolander impression:.

  • We bought a house together last December, and it’s slowly coming together. A bunch of stuff went wrong at first (shower was broken, heating didn’t work, James’ TV stopped working a few weeks in) but other than there still being boxes to unpack and random broken appliances in the conservatory, it’s not too shabby. We’re nearly done decorating the second bedroom (it was an absolute horror when we moved in, bloody awful hand-built wardrobes from floor to ceiling and painted a vomity-green colour) so there will no doubt be updates and pictures of how that’s coming along.

  • I currently work at Tesco. I hate it, but apparently not enough to stop me coming up to my three-year service mark mid-April. I’m on checkouts, but also spend most of my shifts on the self-service machines. It is not physically possible for me to hate these machines any more than I already do. The majority of my rants will be about my time spent working with and around the idiots that use them.

  • I’m studying for my Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification at college. It should be finished by the end of June hopefully, so then I can actually start to apply for jobs that I want and will enjoy. I attend West Winch Primary on Tuesday mornings for my placement (requirement of the course) and it’s fantastic. The course itself if awful, mainly because the tutor has no interest in teaching it, but the work is interesting and I’ll be sticking with it.

  • The Friendlies: Sarah, Jake, Dave, Becky, Tom, Lisa, Christina, Clare, Loren and then my brother, who I call Roy despite his actual name being Dominic. It’s a long story.
  • I like to bake (despite not being very good at it), I love Formula One (team Jenson Button!), I listen to music ranging from Rihanna to Slipknot and I will instantly dislike you if you type ‘lYk Dis!!11!11!’

Hey, found you on random, how did you get onto the teaching assistant course? I’ve been looking for ages for jobs to help with my application for a PGCE but most of them want this qualification which I lack and the jobcentre won’t help me at all.
