It appears at this time that email addresses and passwords associated with some of our diaries were obtained through illegal means. Although these were compromised, there has been no damage to the actual content of any diaries.

We are investigating this incident, but the site will remain offline until we can guarantee the safety and security of our data.

IMPORTANT: as with any online security problem like this, if you have used the password you use on OD for any other online activity, it is important that you change that password immediately. It is always a good practice to use different passwords for different sites, but if you have used your OD password for other sites, please change it to something else as there is a chance that this password has been compromised.

We have already been in contact with the appropriate authorities, who will be assisting with the investigation of this incident. Let me repeat that no diary data has been lost, but we want to be as careful as possible. We will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.
